The Sultan Center welcomed more than 100 students aged 14 to 22 to its annual Summer Working Program, which runs from June 20 to August 18. This program provides opportunities for youth to develop professional skills needed for their future careers and gain on-the-job experience in various divisions throughout the business.
TSC’s Summer Working Program is conducted in partnership with LoYAC (Lothan Youth Achievement Center), a Kuwait non-profit organization that prepares youth to serve their nation and contribute positively toward a peaceful, global community. Applicants also come from the Manpower and Government Restructuring Program as well as directly from the community.
This year’s participants are working in TSC stores (Al Kout, Dhajeej, Fahaheel, Salmiya, Salwa, Sharq, and Shuwaikh) and also in the company’s administrative offices. Three are special needs students who have been given the opportunity to experience the world of work alongside their peers.
Students earn a training salary for their participation in the program. More importantly, they benefit from the chance to see for themselves how a large corporation like TSC operates and to develop the skills they need to succeed in their future careers.
The Summer Working Program is part of The Sultan Center’s ongoing community service efforts.
