Our Projects

Key projects undertaken by the Telecommunications Division include:

  1. Fiber Optic Cable Transmission Backbone Network for Kuwait Oil Company in three phases. More than 450Km of optical fiber cables along with SDH (STM-1) equipment at 68 nodes were installed and commissioned (value approx. US $17.5 million).

  2. C/KU Band Earth Station for the Kuwait Ministry of Information (value approx. US $1.5 million).

  3. Mobile medium wave broadcasting system for the Kuwait Ministry of Information (value approx. US $2.0 million).

  4. Design, supply, installation, testing, and commission of a number of SDH networks (STM-1, STM-4, STM-16) for the Kuwait Ministry of Communications (value approx. US $2.0 million).

  5. STM-16 Backbone Transmission Network for Kuwait Oil Company (value approx. US $0.25 million).

  6. Design, supply, installation, testing, and commission of Fiber Optic Cable Backbone Transmission Network for Omantel in the Sultanate of Oman, along with Oman-based Abu Hani Est. and UK-based Marconi Communications Int., in two phases. Nearly 1400Km of optical fiber cables along with SDH equipment (STM-16, STM-4, STM-1) at 36 nodes were installed and commissioned (value approx. US $21 million).

  7. Design, supply, installation, operation, guarantee, and maintenance of Digital Microwave Network for the Kuwait Ministry of Interior, (value approx. US $7.5 million).

  8. Provision of Dense Wave Division Multiplex (DWDM) Network for Kuwait Oil Company (value approximately $3.8 million U.S.)

  9. Telecommunications System to link Main Terminal with Oil Production Fields for South Oil Company, Iraq (value approximately $5.08 million U.S.)

The Telecommunications Division and its fully owned subsidiary, ATCO, are currently involved with more than 30 projects.
